DOMINO-E at LPS 2025: Strengthening Ties and Shaping the Future of Earth Observation

LPS2025 Venue

The DOMINO-E project was proud to take part in this year’s Living Planet Symposium (LPS 2025), which was hosted by the European Space Agency in the vibrant city of Vienna. As one of the largest gatherings of the Earth observation community, LPS once again proved to be the ideal venue for scientific exchange, partnership building and conversations that will shape the future.

Why LPS 2025 was the right place to be

With over 5,000 participants from around the world, LPS 2025 brought together EO scientists, technology developers, policymakers, and end users. It was the ideal environment in which to showcase DOMINO-E’s ambition to enhance the uptake of EO services across Europe by fostering demand-driven, user-focused innovation.

As EO technologies continue to evolve, the discussions at LPS 2025 emphasised the growing need for coordinated, cross-sectoral initiatives that translate technical capabilities into societal value. That’s exactly where DOMINO-E fits in.

DOMINO-E’s contribution to the EO community

At our dedicated booth and during an engaging side session, we demonstrated how DOMINO-E is creating new value for the Earth observation ecosystem by addressing some of its most pressing issues, such as accessibility, affordability and scalability.

  • We lowered barriers to entry by making EO data and infrastructure more accessible, particularly for SMEs and local governments, which often lack the capacity to engage with high-end EO solutions.
  • We provide EO Ground Stations as a Service, enabling users to access proprietary data sources with greater flexibility and responsiveness, without the overheads of owning or operating satellite ground infrastructure.
  • We support the development of cost-effective EO applications tailored to real-world operational needs that can be scaled across sectors such as agriculture, disaster response and urban monitoring.

Visitors to our stand could explore live demonstrations and case studies showing how DOMINO-E is helping to transform EO from a niche, high-tech field into a practical, service-oriented space. Our approach prioritises usability over complexity, bringing EO capabilities within reach of a much broader range of stakeholders. There was particularly strong interest in how our model enables the faster deployment of EO services while reducing costs, paving the way for more inclusive, locally driven innovation across Europe’s diverse regions.

Looking Ahead

LPS 2025 confirmed what we already knew: the future of Earth observation (EO) is about more than just data and technology — it’s also about people, collaboration, and creating shared value. DOMINO-E is excited to continue this journey, working with and for the EO community to make European Earth observation more responsive, resilient and relevant. We would like to thank ESA and the organisers of LPS 2025 for creating such an inspiring platform. To everyone we met, thank you for your interest, questions and ideas. Let’s maintain this momentum!
